Amy Brock’s gallery, including multiple genres of art, recycled jewelry, and limited edition purses, can be found at Studio #112 in Lowe Mill, Huntsville, Alabama.

Amy Brock moved to Huntsville, Alabama and was inspired to create unique art based on her IT degree and Huntsville’s tech-city vibe. Twisting technology into hanging sculptures, she highlights the way information technology has intertwined itself into all aspects of our world. Made from scrap IT parts, these works use the raw materials’ lines and shapes to create three-dimensional hanging abstract expressionist art.

In addition, Amy became focused more on creating art after her cancer diagnosis in 2013. She enjoys working in several mediums simultaneously. She uses varying techniques from dripping, flinging, to brush-beating the canvas to create abstract paintings. Her bold colorful brushstrokes and whimsical imagery illustrate the movement and color of life. She also create unique abstract expressionistic pastel portraits. Amy also has a series of animal portraits, as well as people portraits where they are depicted as “spirit” animals. These colorful abstract images provide a unique spin to a traditional portrait.

Taking art to the next level, Amy has extend her creativity into wearable or usable objects. She has a series of recycled art earrings that are created from a variety of recycled materials. Every pair of earrings is a small wearable piece of art. In addition, Amy creates a limited number of boxbag purses. These unique wooden purses are handpainted and decorated with a variety of objects, including Swarovskich gems.

Amy Brock, of Signal Mountain, TN, grew up with an adventurous attitude leading her to travel, live, and study across the United States, as well as to graduate with degrees in Organizational Management, Information Technology, and a Master in Public Health. Many of Amy’s artwork have been shown in exhibitions and won awards.

tatawarscancer author & advocate

As a child born in the 70s, Star Wars is awesome! Hence the inspiration for the blog name, tata wars. Amy started the blog in 2013 as a way to not only to remember everything going on during her cancer treatment, but as a way to help others. For her, reading blogs and stories from other people going through cancer gave her hope and ideas on how to prevent, treat, and deal with side effects. Amy hopes that her blog can do the same for you or someone you know facing cancer.

When Amy found out at 38 she had Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC), her kids were only 13 and 6. Going through Stage 3 cancer was brutal… chemo, radiation, lumpectomy, and now life-long hormone therapy treatments and side effects.

Even after all the cancer treatments, she is still fighting… Lymphedema, Fibromyalgia, Neuropathy, Spinal Deterioration, & Arthritis. Each of these side effects occurred from various cancer treatments. Cancer does not necessarily end after it is “removed” or “remission” or “NED”… it can continue to affect your life in many ways. Amy hopes by sharing her experiences it will inspire others to find ways to live, laugh, and love through cancer.

find the cancer force…
